Gordon previously worked at Robson Harris & Co. Advocates in Nairobi where he handled several commercial litigation matters and represented leading State-Corporations and County Governments in litigation and commercial disputes. He has handled various project transactions and assignments both in Kenya and in the United Kingdom. His international practice experience saw him work as the Aviation Regulations Compliance Officer at HAE-Aviation Division in the United Kingdom.
He has advised Various State Corporations including, Kenya Electricity Generating Company PLC (KenGen), Geothermal Development Company (GDC) and other State funded Institutions such as The Kenya Scouts Associations in a wide range of transactions and successfully defended them in multimillion contractual claims. He has demonstrated his impeccable litigation and dispute resolution skills in both the Superior Courts in Kenya and before Arbitral Tribunals established by the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and the Nairobi Centre of International Arbitration.
In projects, Gordon’s experience spans from high-level project due diligence and advisory for the African Development Bank (ADB) in Tanzania for financing of Agricultural Warehouses and Grain Silos. Mr. Abuja has also played a key role in policy development in the energy, mining and construction industry in Kenya. His negotiation skills and ability to fix deals is indubitable. He has participated in various trainings and conferences locally and internationally on energy policies and regulations. He has also gained experience in handling and managing big ticket energy and commercial projects. Gordon has also made presentations as a panelist and keynote speaker in several policy-makers fora in Kenya and Internationally including Chairing the Legal and Policy Discussion at the Kenya Mining Forum 2018 and representing the Government of Kenya in the United Kingdom as a keynote speaker.
As a dedicated litigation and dispute resolution lawyer, Gordon has immense understanding in various sectors such as general contractual disputes, construction contract disputes, employment and labor relations disputes, land and environmental disputes, commercial litigation, civil litigation, Arbitration and Mediation. He was in the team that carried out a litigation case management audit for KPLC that led to over 30% caseload reduction. He was also the lead lawyer in a successful multimillion shillings’ contractual dispute Adjudication before the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb-Kenya) and the lead defense Counsel in a garnishee proceeding at the High Court where he successfully defended a State Corporation against an attachment of over Kshs.5 Billion in its accounts to satisfy the decree of the court.

Ms. Maina started her legal journey with an internship at Wachira Waiganjo & Co. Advocates, where she was introduced to registry work and essential office procedures. At Abuja & Company Advocates LLP, she continues to build on this foundation, learning directly from seasoned advocates. In addition to administrative support, she is now actively engaging in legal tasks such as conducting legal research, assisting in the drafting of legal documents, carrying out due diligence, and conducting official searches through platforms like e-Citizen and Boma yangu. These experiences have strengthened her understanding of how legal processes operate in practice.
Beyond the office, Ms. Maina has actively participated in legal and human rights-focused forums, including the Bandung Africa Conference and Equality Now. Attending these events has given her exposure to thought-provoking discussions on international law, human rights, and equality.
